Things to do this Fall

Fall is a great time to spend outside and enjoy what the Treasure Valley has to offer. The weather is cooler, the leaves begin to change colors and many local attractions open for the season. Whether you are looking to spend time outside or enjoy fall themed activities with your friends there are many options to choose from to satisfy everyone's fall cravings.

Boise Fall Festival

Open on September 12th  is the Boise Fall Festival. This festival is a great way to start feeling the fall spirit. Shop around for new fall trinkets and decorations to bring fall into your home. With things to do indoors and outdoors there is something for everyone. Race your friends in the inflatable obstacle course, get your face painted, feed the animals at the petting zoo, or take fall themed photos. With so many activities it is a great way to get the fall season started.

Local Parks

Local Parks are a great way to feel the fall vibes and enjoy the cooler weather that the season has to offer. You can relax under the colorful trees or enjoy a picnic with friends. Fall is also a great time to see the wildlife busy preparing for the colder months ahead. Whether you are looking for a peaceful place to take a walk or simply want to enjoy the changing scenery, your local parks are an easy and inexpensive way to enjoy the season.

Orchards

Going to u-pick apple farms is a great activity that you can do with your friends. The Treasure valley is lucky to have several orchards to choose from in Emmet and Kuna, that offer opportunities to pick your own apples in fall. Spend the day picking your favorite apples, and enjoying the cooler fall air. When you get home you turn your apples into a variety of fall treats or just eat them straight from the bag!

Pumpkin Patches

The Treasure valley is fortunate to have several places with pumpkin patches and corn mazes that you can visit this fall. Many of the patches have games and rides that you can partake in while on the hunt for the perfect pumpkin. Admission varies by location. Once you find your pumpkin, you can take it home and turn it into a great Halloween decoration.  A trip to the patch is a great way to get into the fall spirit and create some fun memories along the way.

Hiking

Fall is a great time to go hiking around the treasure valley. The cooler temperatures make hiking more comfortable than during the summer, while changing leaves add beautiful colors to the treasure valley landscape. One local hike to check out is Table Rock in Southeast Boise. The hike offers great views of the city and surrounding areas. Grab a friend, and some water, and enjoy the fall weather and colors of the valley before the season ends.
