Here's what we're actually doing when the weather gets good.
1. Bonfire Up 8th Street
If you know, you know. Get your friends together, head up 8th Street, and just hang. This is honestly the move every time. Nothing beats sitting around a fire when everyone finally has a free night.
2. Driving Around
No plans needed. Windows down, good music, just go. There's something about driving around Boise when the weather finally gets nice that never gets old. Half the time you end up somewhere you didn't even plan on going and that's kind of the point.
3. The Greenbelt
Walk it, bike it, run it, whatever. The Greenbelt in spring is just where everyone ends up. The river is going, the weather is good, and there's always something happening. Also the ducklings are out there and they're worth finding.
4. Evenings at Camel's Back
One of the best spots in Boise. Hang out, watch the sunset, bring food. Once it gets warm enough to be outside in the evening this is the move. Bring a blanket and just plan on staying longer than you thought you would.
5. Farmers Market
It's every Saturday downtown and it's actually really fun. Good food, good people, easy way to spend a morning with friends. Even if you don't buy anything it's just a good excuse to get out of the house early.
6. Biking
Spring is when we all get our bikes out again and for good reason. The foothills, the Greenbelt, wherever, it's just a good way to get out of the house. You don't have to have a plan, just pick a direction and go.
7. Late Night Hikes in the Foothills
Bring a flashlight and a few friends and just go. The foothills at night in the spring are actually so fun and the views make it worth it. It sounds like a lot but once you're out there it never feels like it.
8. Hyde Park
Cool shops, good food, always something going on. Easy spot to walk around and hang out without having to plan anything. It's one of those places where you can just show up and figure it out from there.
9. Spikeball at the Park
Get a group together and go to any park in Boise. Spikeball, frisbee, or whatever you prefer, just get outside. Kathryn Albertson and Camel's Back are both solid spots. Once one person texts the group it always ends up being a bigger hangout than expected.
10. Thrifting
Boise has really good thrift stores and spring is the best time to go because everyone is getting rid of their winter stuff. Genuinely one of our favorites. You never really know what you're going to find and that's what makes it worth going back.
